Arnold Palmer died on Sunday at the age of 87.

The golfing legend known as "The King," won 92 tournaments in his career, including seven major championships.

While Palmer was as famous off the course as he was on, stardom that included being one of the most marketable athletes ever and countless charitable endeavors, it all started with golf.

Palmer reacts to sinking a putt on the 72nd hole to win the 1964 Master.

Palmer points to his name on the leaderboard at the 1960 U.S. Open after erasing a 6-stroke deficit in the final round for his second major championship.

The careers of Palmer and his top rival, Jack Nicklaus, were heavily intertwined. In 1964, it was Nicklaus who presented Palmer with his third green jacket for winning the Masters.
